What does our application process look like?

1. Online application

Your journey towards a career at Scheer begins with you submitting your application via our online job portal.

2. Initial feedback

Once we receive your application, we will notify you and carefully review your documents to assess your suitability. Our goal is to provide you with an initial response within approximately two weeks.

3. First video interview

If your application is a good fit, we will invite you to a virtual interview, usually conducted with the recruiting manager and a member of the HR team. In some cases, you may be invited to attend an in-person interview instead.

4. Second (video) interview

If your first interview goes well, we would like to explore your capabilities further and will invite you to a second interview, either in-person or online via a virtual meeting. You will receive our feedback shortly after the interview.

5. Job offer

Congratulations! If we are confident that you are a great fit for our team we will send you a personalised job offer. We will share the good news with you as soon as possible, followed by a formal offer.

6. Onboarding

At Scheer, we want your first days with us to feel exciting and welcoming. As part of our onboarding, we host “Connect Days” twice a year; a special event that brings together new team members in Saarbrücken (depending on your location) to connect, learn, and celebrate the start of your Scheer journey.

But onboarding at Scheer goes far beyond that. Every new colleague receives a personalised onboarding plan and is matched with a dedicated buddy who helps you settle in, share everyday tips, and ensure a smooth and friendly integration into the team.

General application tips

To help us review your application efficiently and ensure a smooth process, please include the following documents:

  • CV
  • Cover letter (preferred but not mandatory)
  • Relevant certificates, such as university transcripts
  • Work or internship certificates.

If you haven’t yet completed your studies, please provide a current transcript of your grades.

CV / Resume tips
  • In your CV, highlight the key stages of your career and provide a clear overview of your professional expertise, specialist knowledge, and soft skills.

  • Emphasise your most relevant professional or practical experience as well as your educational background.

  • Keep the structure clear and well-organised, and list your key responsibilities for each role in bullet points for clarity.

  • We recommend presenting your experience in chronological order, starting with your most recent position.

  • Ideally, your CV should be no longer than two A4 pages and should be carefully checked to ensure it is free from errors.
Interview tips
  • Good preparation is key. Take time to learn about the Scheer Group, especially the company within Scheer you are applying to, its service portfolio, and the advertised position.

  • Think in advance about the attributes and qualities you can bring to Scheer and how you can help us achieve our goals.

  • You will likely be asked to introduce yourself at the beginning of the interview. Practice a short self-introduction that highlights the most relevant stages of your career, including details that go beyond what is listed in your CV.

  • For virtual interviews, check that your IT setup is working properly, for example your camera and ensure you join the meeting on time.

  • For in-person meetings, plan your journey so you can arrive feeling relaxed. Visiting the office location in advance can also be helpful.

  • We look for candidates who are the right fit both for the role and for our culture, so be yourself. We look forward to meeting you!
