The Y-Model of Prof. Dr. August-Wilhelm Scheer: Pioneering Business Transformation

In the 80s, Prof. Dr. August-Wilhelm Scheer developed his ground-breaking Y-Model, driven by the belief that the emerging potential of information technology made it necessary to look at the organisation of an enterprise in a new way.

 

The purpose of the Y-Model was to bridge the gap between business processes and IT, visualising Prof. Scheer’s approach on Computer Integrated Manufacturing.

 

The Y-Model is one of the pillars of Prof. Scheer’s academic legacy, and a continuing source of inspiration for his entrepreneurial success. It is a manifestation of his personal approach to continually thinking and acting independently.
